Data Security

Transcribear is committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), an EU law on data protection and privacy. Transcribear's Privacy Policy and Customer Agreement enable us to meet the high standards of GDPR. You will be prompted to review and agree to these agreements on the Transcribear website.

Our security team is dedicated to improving the security of our service. All our staff have to sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement prior to joining the team.

Our cloud-based service is built on Linode Cloud Platform. It provides us strong with security controls to protect Transcribear, including all our users and data. Linode's data center is located in London and ISO 27001, SOC-2, and PCI DSS certified.

Transcribear partners with Microsoft (for automatic transcription) and Google (for dictation), two global industrial leaders for API services to ensure data privacy and confidentiality. To understand their data policies, please see here (Microsoft) and here (Google). All our payments are processed by PayPal. We do not collect any payment information. To understand PayPal's data policies, please see here.

Transcribear utilizes an Intrusion Detection System and a firewall for detection and remediation of malicious activities. We also use an access control list for preventing no unauthorized access to the system. In addition, Transcribear collects audit logs to provide documentary evidence of any activities in our system.

All data in transit is encrypted via TLS, and all data at rest is encrypted via AES-256. You can see our report here. We regularly back up our system and test our recovery procedures in case of unexpected incidents.

We develop our application following the best security practices. This includes regular training of our software engineers, regular review of our source code for common vulnerabilities, and regular update of software libraries our application relies on.
